We must prioritize core government functions.
Fixing and maintaining our roads is critical to a growing economy. We must wisely prioritize how to spend tax dollars for transportation maintenance. As your county commissioner, I will fight to put money into roads on the south end of the county that have been neglected for years.
El Paso County residents deserve safety in our community. We must support funding our Sheriff's Office so that we can reduce victims, and our District Attorney's Office so that victims receive justice.
Inflation caused by federal government spending, state fees, and ever-growing state regulatory mandates have made it harder for family's to make ends meet. Our county has the lowest tax burden of all the large counties on the front range, and we should keep it that way.

I'm Cory Applegate, a journeyman electrician who understands the struggle of our working families as prices continue to rise on everything: homes, groceries, gas, utilities. That's why I'm ready to fight back against big government in Colorado that continues to make everything more expensive for all of us, and make sure taxes don't grow faster than our wages. I also know how important it is for us to feel safe in our neighborhoods. As a current Fountain City Council Member, I have demonstrated my commitment to easing those burdens.
